Upgrade problems with AC website
High long time lurker and first time poster. I really enjoy reading the wealth of information that is in this board. But to my question.
With the summer upgrade promo I thought that the only conditions on upgrades were it must be tango plus and within North America. So i went and booked a flight. I Booked a flight for july 26 into tango plus, booking class s. july 26ac224-yvr-yyc july 27 ac1178-yyz-yyz july 27 ac916 - yyz-mia august 14 ac917 -mia-yyz ac017- yyz-yver I checked the level of people in first and these flights seemed the emptiest. However after booking, I realized I should have plugged in the "only show upgradable fares" box. When I went back to look at the arrow that points up, next to upgradable fares, it was not only any of the flights I had booked. Now is this because these flights can not be upgraded or have people already filled all R inventory. Now what would be the best way of going about booking a flight from yvr-mia with the highest probability of being upgraded. I have 24 hours to change my flight free of charge(I believe). Thanks for any help in advance. This forum has really helped me in my first year as an E and possibly SE. |
The Upgradable Fares is for the non-promo upgrades I think.
My understanding was that the promo applies to S fares, but it would be only in your upgrade window. I think E is 4 days before the flight. |
Yes ignore the upgradeable fares for NAmerican flights and as long as you book a T+ fare you'll be fine for the summer promo. I never use this setting when booking and instead just look at the J seat map and one of the sites that will show me R inventory, though when booking too far out none of these tools are much good when using the 7, 4 or 2 day window where intuition is the only real "tool" one can use.

july 27 ac1178-yyz-yyz july 27 ac916 - yyz-mia august 14 ac917 -mia-yyz ac017- yyz-yver 224 is currently R=9 1178 is currently R=9 916 is currently R=6 917 is currently R=7 017 is currently R=9 So right now, things look good for you on all of your segments. Best of luck with the upgrades, and enjoy MIA :) |

I can't track R space for NA flights on KVS, but this is the Z fare inventory on all of your flights, which should closely predict the R inventory

Whoopsie, sometimes I'm a total idiot.
You'd think that for the number of times I use this thing on a weekly bases, I'd known more about its domestic capabilities......alas, I once again publicly demonstrate my stupidity.....
