what does it take for an Air Canada employee to be fired?

I mean, there seems to be lots of people with complaints about them, so I was just wondering if they can get fired after a certain number of complaints. If not, what does it take? Can something happen to them other than getting fired? I wonder what their union contract says about that.

Sometimes complaints can be very subjective. I once witnessed a pax - clearly at fault - going ape so to speak with a gate agent and threatening to report him to the President of Air Canada and every one else he could get hold off.

Usually there are three sides to a story - his, mine and the truth ....

pax related concerns are subjective....however one could get into hot water if they upgrade people without authorisation and get caught!

Actually, "expectional" is kind of a cool word come to think of it.

Expectional Service: Service which an Air Canada passenger expects as norm but which the airline considers exceptional.

In a sentence:

"Air Canada provided expectional service by flying a passenger home on a competing airline after his flight was cancelled."

I expect that AC fires its fair share of employees and like any large organization union or not, they likely have a progressive discipline policy to deal with issues. I have no real knowledge, but can't see it being any different.
