suggestions for mini rtw
for 1/17 2 people j class
MIA-JNB (stop) ( routing that works is MIA-BOG-GRU-JNB or MIA-IAD-JNB
then JNB-PER (stop)
then PER-BNE-YYZ
now i know i can do 3 one ways which would be 240000
is there a way of doing
MIA-JNB-(stop)-PER
PER-YYZ on one mrtw or am I way over mileage or did mileage change this year when they raised the awards

Not sure you can do PER-BNE on Star Alliance. Don't think anyone flies that route (not direct anyway).

Can anyone tell me whether the following is a valid routing:
JFK-NRT-ICN-SYD
The cumulative mileage is 12,679 and the MPM for this route, as per EF, seems to be 11,947. So my routing is more than 5% but is within the 10% surcharge. But I think AE did away with the whole MPM thing anyway right?
Thanks in advance.

You shouldn't have any issue doing JFK-ICN-SYD, and fly the Asiana 380...

It's valid. You can book it as a multicity on the website.

I got JFK-NRT-ICN-SYD and back to JFK (via ICN) to book (well, I didn't press the last button but all the way to credit card details).
Requested JFK-NRT, then NRT-SYD, then SYD-JFK. The NRT-SYD leg routed through ICN.

For mini rtw trips is it still 2 stop overs and a open jaw plus 10 layovers? I wanted something like JFK-NRT-ICN-BKK-JFK with a bunch of short layovers in japan, taiwan, shanghai, hong kong, and vietnam. Mainly just to stop and eat.
and you wanna avoid air canada flights correct?

Yes, that's still the rule. And you can sometimes get more than 10 layovers in.
Note that the permitted mileage isn't as generous as it used to be though.
Avoid AC, LH, OZ, NH and TG to avoid fuel surcharges. But good luck avoiding those airlines if you want to go from NRT-ICN-BKK!

You can book online if it's simple, but if you're looking to do lots of 24 hour connections it's best to identify the available flights by doing point-to-point searches and then call up to make a booking that strings them all together (spoon-feeding the flights to the agent).
