Sorry... anyone have any idea if this would be legal? Plus, any idea about scamcharges?

Looks like you're backtracking on the outbound to SIN (going through PEK twice.)

Not only that, but YYC-SIN MPM5 TPAC is 10,416. Your routing is 17,107 miles, a whopping 60% over mileage.

OZ does fly ICN-HRB, but there doesn't look like there's availability. Otherwise, I'd suggest YYC-LAX-ICN-HRB. Also, If you want to go from HRB-SIN on those dates, unfortunately HRB-PEK-SIN isn't available. HRB-PEK-KIX-SIN is available though. Either way, you're going to end up over MPM it seems.

I think your best bet is to go YYC-SFO/LAX-PEK and buying a separate RT ticket to HRB. If you manage to find direct PEK-SIN, that's the only way it will fit under MPM. PEK-BKK-SIN also works.

EDIT: As for the return, you're also over MPM. MPM5 is 14488, and your itinerary is 400 or so over.

I can construct the following:

Jan 26: YYC-YVR AC203 07:00-07:35
Jan 26: YVR-SFO AC560 08:50-11:14 (otherwise, you'll have to stay overnight on a direct flight the day before)
Jan 26: SFO-PEK CA986 13:50-17:55+1

Jan 30: PEK-HKG CA117 17:30-20:50
Jan 31: HKG-SIN SQ857 09:05-12:55 (there's the 08:00 AM from PEK on the 30th, but you would only have 1h15m to connect to the only SQ flight available on the 30th)

Feb 4: SIN-ZRH LX179 23:35-06:10+1
Feb 5: ZRH-DME LX1326 12:20-16:50

Feb 12: DME-FRA LH1451 07:55-08:45
Feb 12: FRA-YYC AC845 10:30-12:25

This itinerary is perfectly legal. Once you route through WAW, you're over MPM. (Even if you find SVO-WAW, WAW-YYZ, then YYZ-YYZ on LO/LO/AC, you're over by 1 mile.)

I tried to book SYD-PEK-IAH-CLE-YUL along with a return YUL-SYD (this one under mpm).
First agent I talked to told me that it does not work because it is way over the mpm and this is the only rule that counts. According to her, there was no such thing as published routings. Oh well...
Second agent was more open to checking the existing rule and as a matter of fact, there is a published routing by CA:
SYD-CA-SHA-BJS-SHA-CA-HOU-UA-DSM-CTU/SHA-BJS-YVR-AC/WS-YMQ
The agent confirmed that SYD-PEK-IAH-YUL was a valid routing but adding CLE was not allowed because it is not mentioned in the list of allowed airports. Is that correct? For the NA part of a routing rule, are possible airports limited the ones listed in the rule?

I was wondering the following:

I have a segment FRA-YYZ in LH Y on my F award. The ticketing department still hasn't called me back to exchange the ticket, and my past experience has been is if they haven't called yet then I've been able to make another change without paying the change fee (I changed a ticket thrice once before ticketing got to it.)

I have been watching FRA-YYZ open up in F for the last month or two incredibly consistently at T-14. There hasn't been a single day in 2 months where it has failed on me. So my gamble is at T-14 I can ring them up and switch over to F for no additional charge or YQ. The odds seem to be 100% unless LH changes their policy (this is a route with old F, so I think it's even more unlikely.)

However, there is now a FRA-YYZ seat in AC J available. I would pay another $70 or so in YQ, but now I'll have a guaranteed J seat. If LH F opens up, then I'll have to pay the $90 fee to move back to it.

TL;DR:
- If I gamble, I will get LH F at no extra cost. If I lose I get a "nice" 8 hour ride in LH Y.
- If I play it safe and pay another $70, I will be riding home in AC J. If my LH F seat opens up, then I pay another $101.70 to Aeroplan and thus have paid $170 more than I need to.

Yeah, but you'll head home in LH F (albeit old F). Not worth it to you for that money? Well, then better play it safe and go with AC J. That is why they call it gambling

If you need the safety, pay for AC J - but for heaven's sake, if LH F opens, pay the 90 bucks to change

I watched FRA-YYZ like a hawk on my last mini RTW and basically had it down to what minute in the day it would show up. When it did, I called in to switch and the agent couldn't find it!?!?! Tried another agent and she couldn't either. Tried again the next day and was able to make the change. I don't know what I'm telling you here, other than I'm pretty sure it will open up! I checked every day for weeks and it did.

Not exactly related to a mini-RTW, but what are your experiences with Swiss business award availability (I) opening up close to travel? I have a few friends travelling on M fares, which are apparently eligible for Star Alliance upgrades, and I don't know if it's a lost cause at this point, or if they might open up more "I".

The flights are all within the next 8 days.

This would be an awesome use of Aeroplan miles

I'm not too sure how the 2 stopovers work. Does anyone know if this is valid?

YYZ-LHR (stopover 1 at LHR)
LHR-XXX (stopover 2 at XXX)
XXX-KUL (destination)
KUL-YYZ (return)

Current possible XXX's are ZRH, CDG, AMS, PRG, LIS, IST.

Thank you.

EDIT: Confirmed IST would work. Did not confirm the rest as the call agent seemed irritated from the start.

That's normal. LX seats are significantly harder to find - YUL-GVA on AC is generally widely available, but will cost a minimum of $250 in fuel surcharges.

LX seems to release seats in the 4-6 month window, I think, but it's just my guess based on availability I see for next year (I see some in the spring, but nothing in summer).
