I don't know if Europe awards get the same stopover benefits as Asia 1 awards.
Are you sure you don't want to go YYT-YHZ-LHR-BCN on the way out? Also, you would have to go EWR/LGA-YYZ on the way back

IMHO, both inbound and outbound exceed MPM. And I'm not aware of any routing that would allow you to do it.

Maybe there should be one thread for all these types of questions instead of new ones started all the time?

You need a coupon xxx-JFK
Then a void coupon JFK-LGA
Then a coupon LGA-yyy
I know that in this age of electronic tickets, the notion of a coupon seems
outdated, but paper tickets do still exist, and are sometimes required,
so the arcane notion of coupons still exists.
Again, I believe ( but stand to be corrected) that there is an upper limit
on the number of coupons on reward tickets - as , for example, the limit
of 16 COUPONS on a STAR RTW trip.

I thought you're allowed up to 10 segments on a reward ticket.
As to the routing, there is a lot of backtracking going on (some necessary YYT-YYZ-Europe, some are not). You might want to route through YUL on LX to save some miles.

I have 3 routing questions that any help with would be much appreciated:
1) Can you fly ZRH-LAX-EWR - guessing this is a hard no but just curious
2) IST-LAX via ICN used to price up as 57.5k business routing. It looks like this might not be an option anymore. Anyone know if you can still get this if you phone?
3) Can you fly ZRH-JFK and then layover in NYC for 23 hours an fly EWR to LAX. i.e. is a JFK/EWR connection allowed?
