E-ticket question
After a call the CP to find out what happened to my e-ticket and placed on hold by the agent for 20 mins, I finally got my eticket... my first issued by AC.
Got some question as I am new to AC eticket. My CP FF number were no where to be seen on the e-ticket like it was on CP, it only said **AC CLUB MEMBER** on the bottom, should I be concern about not getting my points? There was no seat number on the ticket, only said "J-confirmed" (I was upgraded), does that mean I don't have a pre assigned seat? (I am sure I do as I checked ITN and the 2 seats that the agent said I have is not available). Thanks... |
I have used AC e-tickets extensively, but not since the system merge. The FF number should appear directly beneath the passenger name. I've never used my C+ number with an AC ticket, so perhaps this is normal. I would definitely ensure that the FF# is printed on your BP (but I'm sure you know to do this!).
I've just looked at some of my old e-ticket receipts and several of them don't show seats. I definitely did have reserved seats. There was never a problem with this. I have a theory that there's a room full of people sitting at typewriters somewhere in Winnipeg creating these receipts and manually feeding them into fax machines. Naturally, they occasionally make mistakes. This would also explain why it takes so long for AC to get them to us. |

There's a notation "SE" at the end of the arrival time, does that denote SuperElite or Standard Eastern time?
And I just got another 3 faxes of the same itenary in a row from AC.... [This message has been edited by Empress (edited 10-27-2000).] |
The SE after the arrival time is not a code. It's the first two letters of the word "SEATS". If you look to the right of this (beyond the edge of the page) you'll see your seat numbers http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
Unfortunately I'm not kidding about this. There's a bug in their system whereby, sometimes it thinks it can fit the SEATS information on the same line rather breaking to a new line. |
Thanks... Afterburner. Have to keep an extra note to make sure that my FF # is on my boarding pass then!

I am still laughing after reading your posting, After Burner. Like you, I am convinced of the manual faxing of E-Tickets by AC Ticketing, however, I think that someone in Ottawa (area code on my faxes is always 613) is responsible for the speed at which these are sent out. One of the key differences between RESIII and Sabre appears to be the ability for res agents to resend a fax after changes have been made (upgrades, seats assigned, etc). I have been told by CP and AC agents that E-Tickets can NOT be resent even though they can be. Ahhh...the issue of retraining. As far as seat assignments and CPlus membership status goes on these AC E-Tickets, don't panic if your seats aren't there - they usually are but just don't always appear on the fax for some reason also the **AC CLUB MEMBER** notation made me think I had been involuntarily downgraded from Gold to Club http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif until I came to the conclusion that AC really was unprepared for the little things with the migration of the res systems. One final note, there is another 'glitch' with RESIII and it will affect upgrade requests using 1999 stickers - all CP Regional F28 flights are currently showing as Air Nova flights (honestly, I am not making this up) and the res agents are quite confused even though Air Nova operates only in the East and has never used F28s. When I called my 'special' AC res line about this on my ticket she said 'they would fix it by Spring'. Excellent. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Canadian Regional is wet leasing some stuff out east. But it would surprise me if a flight in western Canada, eg from YVR to YXS on an F28, said it was Air Nova - that's just messed-up. I think I will have a gander at ITN and see what's up with that...

I know, it's hard to believe. I am holding an e-ticket in my hand that was booked and paid for last Thursday and just cam by fax 10 minutes ago! It says:
YEG - YVR AC 8379 THIS FLIGHT IS OPERATED BY AIR NOVA Unbelievable. The hard part is convincing an AC res or check-in agent that it is indeed a CP-operated flight and not and AC Connector. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif Both ITN and Travelocity show it the 'right' way so I am thinking that this is a RESIII issue??? |
Which part do you find unbelievable, PointWeasel, that it took them 3 days to fax it, or that nonsense is printed on the e-ticket receipt?
As a veteran AC e-ticket user, none of this surprises me. |

Maybe that's a notation for AC agents to noticed that we are CP fans not AC! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |
I almost forgot!! On one of my E-Tickets from last week I received 3/4 of a page with my info on it and the reast belonged to a Mr. Kutich from the Maritimes flying on an Aeroplan ticket from YYT-YOW. It had his Visa info and Aeroplan number right there. When I called AC to have mine refaxed, the agent asked why did I need it faxed again? When I mentioned that I had received only part of mine but also someone else's E-Ticket she said "that's not possible". What a coincidence. That's exactly what I thought - not at all possible. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
|
Hey, my name is Kutich and I'm still waiting for my e-ticket! (Kidding http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif)
Perhaps Mr. Kutich would be interested to know that AC has been sending his confidential information to other parties. |
That is very alarming. Most people that pay for an air ticket with a CC usually have a substantial limit. I would not want my details sent to a random passenger. You should bring the matter to the attention of AC customer service, and Mr Kutich (I guess you know how to get in touch with him http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif ) - I think that is a serious liability issue.

I would like to bring this to the attention of AC Customer Relations, however, not one of the res agents I spoke to had a phone number for me to call except for the general line back in Montreal. I could always send a letter and would possibly get a reply in 2-3 months, long after both myself and Mr. Kutich have completed our itineraries.
