You just can't make this stuff up.
I wish I got the same treatment when my bag was lost...:D

It wasn't "lost".... it was mistagged. They knew where it was.
What I am curious about is what class the handler flies.

If Mr. Bolt flies AC mostly (and he probably does) I would imagine he makes SE fairly easily. (Aside - I met Mr. Bolt once when Stanley made a surprise appearance at the office. He's a nice guy with a fun job!)

I wonder if AC knew what was in the otherwise unmarked case. Did they think it was just oversized luggage or did they know something very special was inside?

I thought that AC never "really" knew where any bags are since they don't track baggage. So, it was tagged to somewhere else, which they could discover from the check-in info, but could only guess that it actually went to where it was mistagged to.

I'm looking forward the Rick Mercer show or This Hour Has 22 Minutes skit about this incident! Comedy gold mine.

Say, did the India call center believe the lost item was a coffee mug or something? How to convey the cultural nuances of the Stanley Cup... :p

"Sir if you will stop your yelling and ranting and so forth I am be pleased to sending you a genuine AC coffee mug to replace said lost cup."
