Upgrades to J
Called today for travel in two weeks from LHR to YYZ and back. On the 1st leg got my 2nd choice of flight time and on the 2nd leg got my first choice. Both H fares to J.

Called the FRA CTO to issue the tickets. Less than a 1 minute phone call.

I've booked and upgraded 3 sets of returns on AC, YWG - LHR - YWG, no problems with upgrades as now my travel agent can 1) Search for availability in "C" class, 2) book me in economy on an Apex fare and 3) immediatly upgrade me and 4) do the seat alocation. Altogether far simpler than having to call an elite centre. The biggest problem is that the AC computers dont recognise my CPplus number and they have to phone Cp to check me out, but this does not seem to effect the time for the miles to register on my account which was 4 days last time.

Dorian - You are indeed lucky. I called two weeks in advance for a LHR-YYZ flight (May 19, AC 859) and was unable to get into the front cabin. This was despite my Elite status, and the fact that I was paying for for the seat, not using a certificate!
This brings up a question in my mind that maybe someone can help me with. What is the priority for the waitlists? Do revenue customers come first in order of status, or is it by status first regardless of revenue or not? It seems to me that the people paying should have priority over those using certificates. What do others think? |
Paying customers come first...no question about it.
Even even goes as far to check WHICH Super Elite gets upgraded @ the gate first...by who paid more for their ticket!! Had that happen to me! Dorian |
Waitlists (either for sale or for upgrades) are status based.
An SE trumps an E on the waitlist to buy a seat if it opens up, even if the E got onto the list first. But a revenue passenger paying for J trumps an SE waiting for an upgrade to C. |
