Baggage interlining

Hi all

I am about to book a flight to Toronto and have found a good deal with Cathay and Air Canada. My question is will my bags be interlined between the two flights?

Thanks

The answer is yes, they should be, but, in August of this year I flew yhz-->yyz-->hkg on AC metal, and then connected on DragonAir to bki. DragonAir does have an interline agreement with AC, but the AC check-in agent at YHZ could not figure out how to do it! So in Hong Kong I had to go through customs, immigration, collect my bag, and re-check-in with DragonAir. Frustrating to say the least.

See http://www.aircanada.com/en/travelinfo/before/eticket/ for AC's interline partners.

You could have just gone to the DragonAir transfer desk in HKG and showed their your AC baggage receipts (even though the bags were not checked onto the DragonAir flight)!

The transfer desk in HKG is pretty good when it comes to "retagging" bags that are not checked through.

(They would even go as far as retrieving the bags for you, retagging them, and giving you the new baggage receipt)
