Travelling to Kenya as a citizen without a Kenyan passport?
Hey,
i am a dual Irish-Kenyan citizen. My passport got burned when I was burning a bunch of papers and thus I don't have it anymore so I'm only left with my Irish passport which is vaiid. I might be travelling with a relative to Kenya next month during Christmas and was wondering if I could get into Kenya without having to pay for a visa. I have heard that a dual US/Canadian citizen passed through the border with just a scan of his passport but then the border guard got fired..lol. This is Kenya though so I imagine they'd be more lenient and hopefully I wouldn't have to pay for a visa but that's just speculation. Do I need to get a Kenyan visa beforehand? |
If you are a Kenyan citizen, I doubt you can get a visa. You’d have to check online resources whether a Kenyan national must use his passport to enter the country, or whether you can use your Irish passport. Use Timatic database to determine requirements. I don’t really understand your comment about the immigration officer and how your friend would know he was fired, but it’s probably not relevant to your situation. |
Shouldn't your first call/email be to the Kenyan Embassy in Dublin?
