New airport tax in Tanzania eff since 1st of October 2018
The Tanzania Airport Authority has introduced a security levy imposed to passengers boarding aircraft at major domestic and international airports across territorial boundaries of Tanzania, and it is likely to also affect foreign tourists booked to visit this African destination. The new security levy will affect both foreign and domestic travelers booked with airlines flying inside and outside Tanzania. I'm not going to stress about an extra $5, but I wonder if it will apply to East African citizens and residents? Or do only TZ citizens escape this tax?

However people who already purchased the ticket before the annoucement won't have to pay this fee! |
