Car rental bet. Sandton n Harteespoort SA?

Car rental bet. Sandton n Harteespoort SA?
We would like your thoughts and inputs.
I am thinking to take Uber/Taxi from JNB to Sandton/Gautrain (or a recommending point at outer city) to pickup a car rental and drive RT to Harteespoort. Having a car rental for flexibility and Uber to avoid congested and confused area. We would use google map when driving. We drove in Geneva, France, Greece, and Caribbean islands before inc. two on opposite side.
For an experience, we may consider taking Gautrain from Sandton to JNB when returning. Time is about the same and cost is a little diff. Is this okay or not a good idea?
