JRO transfers to Moshi

I will be arriving at JRO on KL571 on Nov. 9 at 2040 and am staying at the Panama Hotel in Moshi.

Much of the information I can find on Tripadvisor, etc. seems to be quite old information.

Should I just get a taxi on arrival at JRO, or would it be better to prebook a car service?

Moshi is about 50-60 minutes from the airport. If you find a reasonable car service rate with a reviewed service why wouldn't you do it to avoid any possible problems?

Tanzaniatransfers.com offers a car service for $50 each way, but it is proving difficult to find reviews.

Does anyone have any experience of this company, or know how reputable they are?

Have you contacted the Hotel about transportation?

It is a bit of a drive and I wouldn't suggest just expecting a taxi. I think our hotel offered a full van for 80/way. Not cheap, but it was simple and the drive is long with MANY speed bumps.

I e-mailed the hotel, but have not had a response yet.

Tanzania Transfers have the option of booking without payment (cash on arrival) at $50 each way.

I'm thinking of just booking that.

At JRO taxi's are regulated with fixed prices. But if you think the car is to bad.. just say it is TakaTaka and smile. Point on the one you want and they will take you in that one..

(TakaTaka means garbage)

Or ask the hotel or your safari company for a pick up. Moshi is about an hour drive from JRO.

Plenty of options, then. Thanks for the replies.
