Juba info???
Traveling to South Sudan later this month, first time in Juba, any local knowledge
on Hotels? restaurants and general security would be appreciated |
A year or so ago it was one of the most expensive places in the world to visit, because there is very little infrastructure and plenty of wealthy NGO people there hang out and pay a fortune for food and lodging to intrepid businessmen who drive goods in from Kenya or Uganda, etc. But I think a bunch of hotels have opened now so maybe it's not so bad anymore. I hear the Tulip is fine.
I wouldn't be afraid to go as long as it's someone else who is paying. They love foreign visitors! |
A while since my last visit, but as noted there are very few hotels/restaurants.
When I was there at least, we weren't allowed out at night, primarily because of concerns about alcohol and guns together. |
Pointsmeister, why are you going to Juba?
|
Our crews stay at Juba Grand Hotel when they fly out of there. No complaints from them other than the horrendously slow internet at times.
