Ideas for Marrakech, Morocco?
 

I booked a cheapo $50 flight from Alicante to Marrakech.

It will be my first time in Marrakech, first time in Africa and first time flying Ryanair.

I booked the online check-in fare... will travel with a backpack, so other than being bombarded with in-flight advertising don't expect to shell out any 'fees' per se...


Once I arrive though I'm curious where people recommend to stay on the budget... I'm only going for two solid days (and two half days) so what can I do in terms of sightseeing during that time.


I'm flying December 18-21... anything seasonal happening?

I had a fabulous time in Marrakesh. I wish i could go back again. I've been twice.

I stayed at Equity Point and had a rocking time in the Djemma el fna. I'd do it again and stay through the new years cause i've heard the place is just amazing then.

You can get either a bunk or a private room at Equity point but i'd hurry if you're going now. They tend to get booked out quickly.

Also 2.5 days is simply not enough to spend in Marrakesh. I'd spend a month wandering this place. it is truly another world. but not for everyone. I love adventure.

Be sure to go the Djemma at night for dinner. That's when the place truly lights up. The souks are a unique experience if you've never been in an arabic country. get off the beaten path into the alley ways and you might discover places you'd never see as a tourist on a tour!
