Good news! Comes as no surprise.

I wonder what the fares will be like?

Hopefully we will soon hear that EI flights earn TPs and full Avios! I am hoping for such an announcement as soon as August...

I have some trips later this year on routes that EI fly. If I thought that there was a good chance of earning TPs I would book with them even though they are a bit more expensive than their rivals on the routes. I'd be surprised though if anything is in place for TPs before the end of the year.

The "Aer Space" product may be good news for earning TPs providing earning rates are in line with 40 TPs on BA's Club Europe product and not the 20 TPs on BA's Business UK.

Id be surprised if Aer Space earned anymore on non GC Tiers to be honest. Of course never say never but I cant see them giving 40 TPs.

Only available on "biz [business] routes". Interesting. I suppose LBA won't qualify

Hopefully this is a means of harmonising with CE for the DUB-LHR route - so they can run a combined EI/BA service from T5 a la BA/IB. Would be great for transfers

I was hoping more for something like what happened with bmi. Their flights became BAEC-earning before the ink was dry on the takeover deal.

And Qatar became an earning partner before they entered oneworld. (And yes, I know that EI is already a partner...but not a TP earning partner).

I hope for a surprise early announcement....

Stunningly beautiful as some of the areas are around LBA I don't see it being a major leisure destination, would have thought it would be a suitable route (hope so anyway).

I would imagine a cautious and phased roll out. First LHR and maybe AMS followed closely by CDG, FRA and BRU.
If they all work, you could see it expanded elsewhere. I would be surprised to see it roll out across the entire network (minus the obvious leisure destinations) at once.

On the other hand, the sooner that IAG can sell a through J product end to end the better from the booking perspective.

Aer Lingus to get Premium Economy

I haven't heard or seen this anywhere on FT or related sites.

Aer Lingus Chief Financial Officer Bernard Bot said he was confident Aer Lingus could defend its position, aided by a new premium economy product.
http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/...1091VW20150729

I wonder this is a completely new Premium Economy product, or related to enhanced short-haul offering with the business and the middle-seat game.
