Evacuation ?
 

Landed at T2 form US and all flight connections closed, staff came and stopped passport control saying area is being evacuated. Super disorganized and now walking back towards planes. Anyone know what’s going on?

evacuating a terminal on a busy Saturday is never going to be easy

There is a major security operation unfolding its going to be chaotic sadly . Just going to have to follow instructions from airport staff and authorities. I understand from other info that some staff have been confused and not knowing what to do but its a fast moving situation.

Luckily was able to get into T1 connections with my Ryanair flight coming up. T1 operating as normal.

Seems T2 is open again now .

Connection between terminals is now reopen.

Yes, sounds like the bomb squad were able to give the all clear within an hour

T2 is open as of 1350, EI lounge reopened at 1415

Large number of aircraft trapped on taxiways, going to be several hours to clear this mess

Sitting in the EI lounge currently awaiting an update as to my flight

Sadly the Liffey lounge is refusing guests unless you make a direct booking for pay the €39 pp even though it’s empty.

The chicken stew is worth a try if you are stuck at the lounge

Serious questions to be asked of LHR security of how this was missed, for all the show they put on you would expect better

God forbid you take some washing powder or candy bar through security but they let this happen 😂

Unbelievable. How could something considered to be potentially dangerous enough to evacuate a terminal pass unhindered through LHR security? Major questions to answer.

Finally boarded the EI464, aircraft assigned has been on stand since 1430

Chaotic scenes in terminal gates changes from 335 to 30x at short notice. Boarding gates displaying wrong flights

DAA and EI have a lot to learn from this.
