Look back confirmation

Thanks FlightDetective. that's not an awful outcome - in this case it would mean I have 8 upgrades to use by March '25 - the four I earned last year that I'v not used yet and have been extended until March '25, plus the four new ones I earned in the loopback, also valid until March '25?

has someone in AerClub confirmed the particular approach to look back mentioned above ?

It was definitely the 10th to start with. I know this as today is my birthday and I was hoping to have reached Platinum 😐

Yes it was flagged as the 10th originally but when they put they put the notice on the site after the 1st they gave themselves an extra couple days

Not that I'm aware of, although FlightDetective has a good track record . . The FAQs on the website are quite ambiguous and only state that the look back enables people to move up a level, but says nothing one way or the other about renew/refresh. I asked the Concierge team about this specifically by email at the start of March and got a very strong PFO from them telling me Iíll find out what is happening after April 10 and not to contact them with any questions before then.

Same. Only had 110 credits for this year so theyíre gone. But an extra four months of concierge. Which Iíll never reach again. So. Iíve done well out of it.

Can confirm my partner moved from Platinum to Concierge this morning, she had 1052.5 TCs in the period 1 April '23 - 31 March '24. No email welcoming her to concierge, but her TCs are reset and Conc status updated.
The look-back review seems to be underway.

My partner recently renewed Platinum until July 2025, now at 825TC with her original qualifying year was due to end in July 2024. (Goes without saying that she would have 100% reached Concierge by July 2024 at her current rate of flying for work). My understanding is that she has two choices:

A) Not to chase Concierge in March and accept that she will remain platinum when the reset occurs (even with TCs from April - July 2023 added, she would still be at least 100TCs short of 1,051). In this case, regardless how much she flies over the next year she would be platinum not only until 31 March 2025, but until 31 March 2026 (as per the Aerclub email, since her current Platinum status currently expires July 2025)

B) Chase Concierge in March to earn the shortfall in TCs so that she reaches 1,051 earned for the period 1 April 2023 - 31 March 2024, meaning she would make Concierge following the TC review, with a tier expiry on 31 March 2025. Hypothetically, if she doesn't fly much until then she should make a 'soft landing' to Platinum on 1st April 2025 which will in turn expire on 31 March 2026.

What I haven't been able to answer her is the following:
1. Under Scenario A, when would her Platinum upgrade voucher expire?
31 March 2026 is my understanding from the Aerclub email and the discussion here.
2. Under Scenario B, when would her Platinum upgrade voucher expire? Really not sure on this one. In theory, she shouldn't be made worse off by moving to Concierge - i.e. having the expiry of her Platinum upgrade voucher moved forward - but I am afraid it will be the case.

Any thoughts?
Can also confirm that after speaking to the Concierge line this morning, they confirmed as follows:
- 1 Platinum upgrade voucher with extended validity until 31 March 2026
- 4 Concierge upgrade vouchers with validity until 31 March 2025

Also, this might be useful for some: The agent also advised that when an upgrade request is submitted, they would normally first apply the vouchers with the earliest expiry date (i.e. the concierge ones) before they touch the platinum one, but he did also advise to specify this in the upgrade request email just to be 100% sure.

Expiry date

I was silver cardholder which yesterday was extended to March 2026 . During the look back of TC I have been upgraded to platinum with an expiry date of March 2025 . Should it not also be March 2026 or am I missing something ?

31 March 2025 is the correct expiry date for your Platinum status. Two mechanisms at play here:
1) Your Silver status was extended to 31 March 2026 on the basis that your original Silver expiry date exceeded 31 March 2025. This is irrespective of the look-back TC review.
2) As per the official communication, a TC review is performed over the period 1 April '23 - 31 Mar '24 and - as per the outcome of the TC review - you have been awarded Platinum status. This new status is aligned to the new standardized qualification period, which runs until 31 March 2025 - hence the expiry of your Platinum status.

Separate to the above and just out of curiosity, what was the sum of your TCs over the period 1 April '23 - 31 Mar '24? Did it exceed 601+?

Thanks for clearing that up . The total TC over the period amounted to 650TC

And don't forget that as you have now advanced to Platinum you will have a soft landing to Silver anyway on the 1st April 2025 if you don't get another 601 or 301 tier credits between 1/4/24 and 31/3/25 (assuming you fly with Aer Lingus at least twice in that time). So you effectively still have your Silver status to 31st March 2026.

So basically my tier point collection strategy between January and March was a complete waste of time. I didn't fly much last year because of work, though that changed last December. Can't believe they just zeroed out tier points just like that.
