A Couple of Questions

Last AerSpace flight for me this evening. Unless some bargains come up.The difference now on a lot of flights of €40 or more between AerSpace and Advantage for what is offered is not value for money at all. And after being on a Neo yesterday and an ordinary A320 this evening I think I'd like the emergency row space back!

Anyway, a couple of questions.

1. The very nice lady in LHR lounge asked if I wanted to move to an earlier flight. I asked her if there was an AerSpace seat as every point matters! There was and I got it. Paper boarding pass. AerClub number on it. Presume there will be no issue with points accruing? Kept boarding pass just in case.

2. Re: every point counts. The rest of my flights this year get me to 980 points. I could go for one more flight to get me to Concierge. The main driver would be the answer to the following question. Can the business upgrades be given to a travelling partner. Could I book a return flight for me and my partner and use the upgrades for both of us? And if the answer is yes has anyone ever gotten two upgrades on the same flight?

Thanks

Should have no issues getting points for earlier flight its worked ok for me .

As far as I know you can gift upgrades and also use for you and travelling companion. The earlier you book the more likely revenue will release two for a Concierge member . Having got so far at 980 Id go for it .

Yeah. That’s what I was hoping. And I am in a position to book months in advance. Probably go for it. I won’t get there again so it would be nice even for a year.

You can give the upgrades no problem - just call the helpline and have their booking details.

I gifted my 4 upgrades to a friend and his brother, the both got upgraded both ways to MCO without issue.

I have a quick query if anyone can help my Aer Club anniversary was today, only had 975TP officially registered, however took 2 flex flights last week for another 80TP to get me over the line to 1055.

My automatic Aerclub email came thorugh today saying I was Platinum for the new year, I take it I'll get upgraded automatically to Concierge when those last 2 hit, presuming it's the date you take the flight rather than the date that it posts, that matters?

I'll make it to concierge again this year but not sure I'll bother pursing after that.

The no change fee and travel earlier than scheduled look great on paper but near impossible to redeem. I've waited 6 weeks for a change fee refund and travel earlier than schedule benefit usually involves an argument with a poorly trained agent.

Platinum would be perfect if an additional upgrade was added.

I do my changes with an agent on the phone - deals with the change fee question there and then.

I always get quoted an exorbitant fare difference with agents compared to what is available online.

I wasn't clear ... I'm concierge so don't pay change fees.

Another possible obvious question.

Once you book and get your upgrades via the concierge allowance during the concierge year the flight doesn’t have to be during your concierge year? You can book beyond the date of renewal?

You must 'use' the vouchers while concierge status, but can be used on flights up to 330 days ahead so 11 months from the expiry of status is possible in an extreme case

Perfect. Thanks

Renewal date is November and I've a lot of non USA travel down already for next year so it will be handy to use them for 2025 flights. Booked before November 2024 of course!

Oh, I thought the vouchers remained valid until their expiry date, even if you dropped down in status.

All vouchers expire at the end of the 12 months. They must be 'used' and cannot be carried over
