Does Anyone Know What's Happening After 1st October
Does anyone know what's happening in October? Yes the AerSpace cheap fares have disappeared but looking art some fares, mid term break for schools in particular, they are off the charts. More than €400 return for a saver fare to almost all Italian destinations. I've never seen the like and I head away that week every year. And when you dummy book the planes are almost empty based ion the seat chart. They hardly expect to sell at these prices?
I'm actually beginning to worry that the fares won't come down at all and I should book something.
Any inside track? Is the restructuring completed?

One suggestion if you’re getting nervous might be to go ahead and book Advantage/Aerspace and then cancel if something happens in between?

IATA seasons?
Schedules change at those dates. When airlines publish new fares/routes at season change is variable.

And then there’s AerSpace. Again, most AerSpace I’ve been in I’ve been the only one. If people aren’t taking it up at a cheap price then they’re hardly going to take it up with the price doubled. Just seems odd.

So is it basically why are there high fares to a couple of destinations you are interested in during school mid-terms....probably a more direct question like this would help as others have pointed out fares after October and even during mid-term to a lot of places are perfectly normal. Maybe school trips are back in vogue this year after covid interruptions and places you are looking happen to popular for them too so are pushing up the price and block booked via a travel agent so the seat map isn't populated yet or simply EI pricing it higher with expected demand around that time? I don't think there is too much mystery here, just volumes getting back up to pre-covid levels now being priced in ahead of time with more surety.
I had a quick look back and I flew to Rome in 2016 during mid term (just a work trip not a holiday) but it was with ryanair for ~350 rtn so if I was flying ryanair it must have meant the EI flight was much more expensive that week for me to jump (the week after was 200 with EI). Granted probably only booked a month in advance but still its just a busy time for some destinations and therefore expensive.
Fork up and pay, look at other options (airline or location) or wait and see if prices drop seem to be your options.
