EI-HDI

Has been in Exeter for a number of days. Is due to operate a revenue flight back to DUB this morning. My issue is it is then due to fly to MAN, 10.15 departure. Even though the flight from Exeter doesn’t arrive till 10.25. Why did EI not change the MAN timing instead of just listing it as delayed?

My sister is none too happy. This seems to me to be something they should have at least notified MAN passengers of.

I think Emerald are suffering from either aircraft or staff shortages. Last Saturday I was on a 3.5hr delayed EDI-DUB that was advised 12 hours in advance. The inbound aircraft arrived as scheduled in EDI, but was used to operate a EDI-BHD return before doing the DUB flight.

Don’t think this is either of those. The aircraft has been in Exeter for days. The flight to Exeter this morning is not operating the return. It’s all very odd. Is Exeter a maintenance base? Nothing else seems to make sense.

Overall their on time record seems very poor.

It sounds suspiciously like there is no crew available to operate the service on schedule within mandatory rest requirements, thus causing knock on delays.

Doesn’t really explain why one plane flew over and a different one flew back with the one the flew over seemingly left there from what I can see.

As an aside on EI407 from FCO on Thursday night. Over an hour late leaving and forty five minutes late into DUB. Neither even acknowledged or apologised for by the captain. Pretty unimpressive.

The two A20Ns have both spent time at Exeter in recent weeks and were replaced on the LHR service by other A320s. It must be maintenance or why would a new A20N be there for around a week?
