Aer Lingus ground handler at LHR 72 hours strike

https://news.sky.com/story/heathrow-airport-ground-handlers-to-go-on-strike-over-pay-12749747

Heathrow Airport ground handlers to go on strike over pay. Menzies handle Aer Lingus .

Ground staff at Heathrow Airport have begun a 72-hour strike, in protest at their pay.

About 350 workers started the action from 4am on Friday, according to the Unite union.

The strike by workers at aviation services firm Menzies will affect a range of airlines and disrupt a number of flights leaving terminals 2, 3 and 4 at Britain's busiest airport, a statement from the union said.

Flights operated by Air Canada, American Airlines, Lufthansa, Swiss Air, Air Portugal, Austrian Airlines, Qantas, Egypt Air, Aer Lingus and Finnair are most likely to be disrupted.

I'm flying from LHR tomorrow morning not had any warning yet of potential disruption from EI.

Fyi
For anyone arriving to LHR 19-22 Nov there is disruption to train services due to strikes and engineering works. No elizabeth line/express trains on on some days.

LHR T2 seemed back to current 'normal' today though while waiting to board TP I did overhear ground staff talking about more planned strike action. What I heard was they agreed a pay rise in May and it still has not been implemented. These were Menzies staff, I don't know if they also do below the wing for EI - I think they do.

Namely the two lovely staff who featured in the TV program. Always nice to see them at the lounge or gate .

FWIW, one wouldn't know a strike was on and had absolutely 0 impact on travel over the weekend just gone. Was there myself. Ground staff at check-in as well as lounge said no effects on EI's operation! Curiously Menzies staff were still very much there too, so I'm guessing this is either excellent contingency planning or the strike wasn't as effective as hoped and many crossed the picket line.
