Domestic first/business award redemption on AA w/ EI or transfer to BA
 
Giving up on finding business class availability on EI with my avios. I’d rather use it on AA’s domestic business or first. Is booking through EI the way to go or should I transfer to BA for this?

AFAIK you can only use EI Avios for rewards on IAG group airlines (BA, EI, IB, VY).

To book an AA reward to you would need to transfer to BA (not sure if it is possible or better value to transfer and book via IB).

It's desperate. I am relatively free and easy with my time but I can find absolutely no availability on anything transatlantic months into the future. Very frustrating

American Air award availability isn't that easy to find either. Especially across the Atlantic they prefer to release saver tickets on BA metal and I don't know how those rates compared to you using avios
