Well handled as always, calm

Curiously very much sounds like the captain of the last to land before the EI115 was the captain on the 757 at JFK which had the hydraulic leak

He landed just before EI115 returned, after the bird strike

Report in the Aviation Herald:

An Aer Lingus Boeing 757-200, registration EI-LBT performing flight EI-115 from Dublin (Ireland) to Philadelphia,PA (USA), was in the initial climb out of runway 28 when the crew declared PAN PAN reporting a bird strike on the runway. Tower reported he had seen a flame out of the right hand engine (PW2040), the crew requested to level off at 3000 feet and enter a hold. The crew worked the related checklists, advised they were landing heavy and long and positioned for a safe landing on runway 28 about 27 minutes after departure.

The rotation (EI-115/EI-114) was cancelled.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Dublin about 8 hours after landing

EI-LBT flew to Hartford today, so credit to the ASL folks for a quick turnaround on repair
