Switching to BA

I've been a loyal AerClub/Gold Circle for many years but seriously can't handle how much more expensive EI is compared to BA.
  • AA flights (oneworld) are about 3/4 of the price vs. EI
  • AA flights from LHR are very luxurious while I'd avoid BA club personally
  • You get to choose your seats in advance with BA
  • BA economy is about half the price these days vs Aer Lingus equivalent
  • BA Club Europe is sometimes around the same price as Economy Plus which will yield you 40 tier points vs 25 tier credits
  • No sign of EI joining OW anytime soon

Good points but I guess it all comes down to personal travel preferences and trends. Aer Club is a good program for those who fly EI most of the time and of course their partners which get some benefits. If you fly mostly AA/BA then for sure BA Exec Club is the way to go.
