Anyone know why this flight is cancelled thank you

The incoming flight 109 from DUB to JFK to be used for 108, was cancelled also. Mechanical??

For the purposes of EC261 there was no aircraft at JFK to operate the service, makes no difference to EC261 what happened earlier in the day on a different flight number.

Pass go, collect 600 euro?

Thanks, Aer Lingus seem to think it does and are claiming EC261 doesn't apply in this case. I've emailed them back to appeal and if no joy will go further about it.
