How would Knock be for a back to back?

I was looking at doing a little jaunt to Knock as a cheap way of trying Aerlingus out from my home base of Gatwick. It's possible to book as two singles (not as one ticket), but how would a back to back work at Knock? I'm guessing there must be passport control and security to get through on the turnaround, anyone know if there are any potential problems? Is there any sort of transit route?

Don't think you'll have any issues; it's a small regional airport. There isn't a transit route. Be aware that there is a €10 departure tax that you'd have to pay.

before entering the baggage reclaim hall you will have your passport checked by irish police.

exiting the (small) baggage hall turn right - walk 100m to the departure security screening (past the checkin desks).

after you've paid your 10 euro "development fee" they scan your boarding card. i've had problems before where i've been cutting it a bit fine, and the computer said no ... and they had to override it (after checking that my plane hadn't already gone).

sometimes there can be a bit of a queue for the security machines - but you should be able to guess by looking at the other departures that day.

once through security you will be able to see your gate - about 50m away !
