Do they charge for one checked in baggage?

Saver fare bookings incur a fee for each checked bag.

Smart or Flex fare bookings are permitted 1 checked bag free of charge, weighing up to 23kg (50lb).

Hope that helps!

Here's the relevant page on aerlingus.com: https://www.aerlingus.com/travel-inf...lantic-flights - as FlightDetective
mentioned, it does depend on the type of fare purchased as to whether a bag is included or charged extra for.

If you opt for the Saver fare (not an option on some routes and not available if you have any connecting flights) then its no free checked bag

Smart/Flex/Business all get a 23kg bag for free (3 in business)

Does anybody know if AVIOS redemptions on Aer Lingus offer 1 free checked baggage? In each of these cases: Transatlantic and Intra-Europe

Very helpful!! Thanks so much I will transfer my BA into Avios and make my first redemption! The EI transatlantic taxes come to about $140 which is a steal compared to BA.

Don't forget that by ringing BAEC you can redeem avios for EI flights and this produces slightly lower taxes than by redeeming via the avios website.

That's hearty advice!!! Thanks so much, I will try that )
I did notice that taxes were very high on AVIOS website redeeming a short DUB-EDI award... much more than purchasing a ticket outright.

Would an Avios redemption EDI-DUB on Stobart Air include one free luggage? I am unable to find out before transferring my points to Avios from BA, apologies!

You’re welcome. It’s 23KG, I believe.

Availability tends to be pretty good on the Regional routes, I think if you’re paying for a Bag/Plus Fare the use of Avios represents OK value, but you will still end up paying Ł100 or so in “taxes”. So do check revenue fares too. Or Ryanair.
