Status Match - BA ?

Anyone got any insights on if / how / when BA may/may not accept EI status matches in Exec club ?

BA almost never status match [though there are exceptions, of course, such as the targeted offer to bmi status holders in Belgium, the Netherlands, Ukraine and Israel when bmi withdrew from these markets]. And usually, status matches are only accepted from competing - not from sister/partner - airlines.

If your employer does a lot of business travel, and there is scope for that travel to be shifted over to BA, then you should get your people to talk to BA and see if something can be arranged. But as a private individual, there is nothing much you can do.

I'm a Dublin based flyer and got status matched to BA Silver when switching from Delta Platinum in 2015. Wrote them an email listing my flying patterns and also stating that I was in charge of all travel in the company.

What does IAG have to gain from status matching from one airline in the group to another? Likelihood of it happening is low

Yes, I remember the thread.

Your existing bookings at the time would have got you to Silver anyway, so it just seems that they "hastened" your status. It is not typical of BA to status match private individuals, though.

I would think the probability is very low indeed.

Never to be honest. It would make no sense to. They sometimes match UA DL EK via account managers but only if you can prove intended high revenue for future BA flights.
