Do any airlines serve it on board? There has to be a reason why they don't and it could be down to cost.

You are right though, you'd expect it to be offered on an Irish international airline.

Indeed as a national brand iconic around the globe you would think Aer Lingus would have done a deal to get it onboard its flights. Apparently at Dublin Airport they sell amounts that would rival many of the Dublin pubs !

Do they stock it at Lounges?

Can you drink Guinness directly from a can or does it need to be poured to be best enjoyed? Not ideal to be pouring a can into those small plastic glasses they give you on board, just wondering if that could be a reason

I've not had Guinness since childhood when my dad let me try in a pub turned me off the stuff for life

A steward told me it was because the widget in the can makes it unsuitable to serve at altitude, which seems like a fixable problem to me.

Yes it is stocked at the Dublin EI lounge

I very much doubt Guinness would pour and settle correctly at the 8,000 feet cabin altitude in the dry air conditions onboard with the constant low level vibration

I'm also wondering whether Guinness themselves might not insist that it's not served at altitude.

The problem with it in the lounge is that there is no pint glasses!! Which renders it difficult to make use of the draught cans properly.

I agree with the issues at altitude. Maybe Guiness Extra is the answer?
