Does EI open up award seats close to flight date?
EI showing no award availability June 8 JFK-SNN.

What is likelihood they add award seats as flight date approaches?

In high season, with demand high and the remaining seats likely to sell for cash, it is almost certain that they won't.

Slim to none.

When its zeroed, its zeroed in my experience from tracking multiple flights on ExpertFlyer for U (I think that's the avios bucket) for a few months out.
