Booking Aer Lingus TATL Flights on BA? joining One World?

Looking to book DUB-LAS Vegas return in January 2017. Would be better to fly out Via ORD/JFK with Aer Lingus and back via LHR. Not showing an Aer Lingus option at the moment. Anyone know if or when this will be totally integrated?

Will Aer Lingus be joining One World and offering AA connections rather than UA/Jetblue in the states?

Nope! Timeframe hasn't been announced.

Eventually. IAG has applied for EI to be part of the AA/BA/IB/AY joint-business but we won't know anything until the joining date is formally announced.

You can today book EI + AA if you call your travel agent, EI and AA systems talk to each other so AA can check you in and issue boarding cards to a connecting EI flight and vice versa

On arrival in SFO on EI the cabin manager will normally advise the terminal details for UA and AA for connecting passengers so it all works its just not pushed due to the existing codeshare deals and the need for approval to join the JB

Can't join OW until admitted to the JB

Not necessarily, but they're likely to happen at the same time. If not, I would expect EI to join *O first, then the joint-business, instead of it being the JB then *O.

Note that AB is part of oneworld but is not part of the JB, and AY was not initially part of the JB.

It's the other way around...they can't join the immunised joint venture until they are a full oneworld member.

(Sri Lankan, Qatar, LATAM and TAM all recently joined oneworld without being admitted to the JV)

Even after OW entry EI will still offer connections to UA DL etc..and AA as they currently do. As above use a OTA they can give you any combo you want as long as an IATA fare exists.

A travel agent is a person who is worth their weight in gold, if they know their job

From what was said on the last analyst call it seems that commercial agreement with the JBA partners is holding things up.

The regulatory process in terms of approvals to bring Aer Lingus into an immunised joint venture, that's in place as well. So there's work in progress there which we would expect to complete in a couple to a few months.

IAG applied for a blanket codeshare between EI and BA on TATL routes

EI and BA IT work together so its easy and there is no concept of recognition of status
