So one could assume the corresponding OW tiers would be:

Concierge = Emerald
Platinum = Sapphire
Silver = Ruby

The five free lounge visits for Silver (or OW Ruby) is an interesting decision.

Well for their own sake I hope they won't match GC Gold to Silver. I can see a lot of disgruntled members.

Couldn't agree more - not happy to be restricted to 5 lounge visits a year AND no partner visits. One round trip to LHR would presumably be 2 visits so you could be out of the lounge fairly early in the year.

Sadly it looks like GOLD=>Silver

The only hope is that the entry level for Platinum is less than 4800

Bear in mind EI was incredibly generous in giving Gold level lounge access, no one else would for that travel level. With BA/IB onboard and OW in the future their elites will be showing up in Dublin so something has to give to ensure the lounge doesn't turn into a glorified waiting room

Forgive me, but isn't this exactly what an airport lounge is?

I beg to differ, the old GC scheme did little to reward loyalty, especially to those who kept on flying EI in Europe.

Seems like light at the end of the tunnel

Applicant members will have their balance converted to tier points so are not starting from zero to gain status in Aerclub

They do lose value of the points though

I can't see anything on the website about that:

If you have Gold Circle tier status (ie. Gold, Prestige or Elite), you will have your closing account balances converted and credited into your new AerClub account as Avios points when AerClub launches.
I also see no mention of Tier Points.

How will this work with code shares. I am flying DUB - LHR - LAS in March on BA. Will the Silver benefits work on these flights?

Disgruntled .. no way, absolutely furious in fact!!!!

On another note.. anyone any idea on the redemption rates for the new programme? At the moment 6,000 GC points gives you a TA East coast city, but with a conversion rate of 2:1, will that mean the same trip will cost 12,000 avios..??

Maybe less than that as they will only pay out on the actual fare and not any of the other things like taxes,admin fee,meal pre order or seat fees. With many fares 20% actual fare and 80% taxes you may earn very little.

At present, it costs 12,500 Avios each way to redeem a DUB-BOS or BOS-DUB Aer Lingus economy flight in the British Airways Executive Club; and 20,000 Avios each way for a DUB-JFK or JFK-DUB Aer Lingus economy flight.

The earn/burn tables for Aer Club have not yet been published.
