I think that is treated as a normal fare TP and Avios wise (maybe promotional but that's fine). Others on the forum here more knowledgeable than myself might know more though about the business fare classes and confirm or correct.

Always a bit of a personal preference and of course how price conscious you are. You have no status obviously so having lounge access can be direct money saver if you tend to have a little bit of food or any alcoholic drinks at the airport (US airports in particular can be pricey), plus alcoholic drinks need to be paid for on EI flights in economy. Also factor in the length and time of day of the flight. Longer flight gives you more value obviously and if it is a night flight then your ability to sleep on the plane could be a factor and how much you value this.
No easy answer to is it worth it. Personally your first upgrade at 380 would be a definite YES for me if I had no status. At 600....hmm i'd definitely consider if that was worth it again depending on circumstance but in general 600 for business upgrade is a decent deal, certainly not losing out versus normal business fares IMO.

Check at the link below - not every itin is eligible in which case you can’t make a bid.

My flight is eligible and I was able to make a bid to upgrade, but there was no choice to do the "cheaper" upgrade as the original poster suggested. I was just wondering if that choice is not available, would my bid be denied then?

My bad - missed the earlier post on a straight paid upgrade.

You might check availability of business seats by making new booking. Just go through steps: choosing flights, choose business, fill some data etc. and you will have option to choose seat. Check if there any available
Maybe there is no seats available

Just to note if you have a United or Jetblue flight on the itinerary it probably won't let you upgrade online, you have to call the call centre to process the transaction.

I just checked and there are 11 seats available on the flight I'm looking to upgrade (and it is a straight Aer Lingus flight). Hopefully, they accept my bid (counting today I still have 10 days before my flight).

How soon after booking are people able to access the bidding site? I booked last night and wanted to see what the minimum bid was within the 24hr window before deciding whether to cancel my booking (US-based). No email yet, and when I go to the site (https://www.aerlingus.com/plan-and-b...rade-yourself/) and manually enter my PNR, I get a message saying "no space available." Does that mean there will be no upgrade offers on my flights (JFK-DUB) or just not yet?
