What way affect the rudder, electronic interference resulting in control issues, or by airflow disturbance due to an external antenna pod ?

Actually thinking about it as I type, if switching it off solves the issue, then it must some type of electrical / rf related interference

Seems to be still causing a headache for EI . June has been removed from the website now and ''coming soon'' replaces it. Seems it will be even longer before its rolled out. Still better safe than sorry.

Saw DAA A330 sitting at the gate on friday and it had the bubble thing up near the rudder which i assume houses the satelite for the wifi. I was trying to take a pic but couldnt get a clear one

Not as of yesterday! I didn't ask for an update but there was no mention of it and the usual 'make sure all devices are in airplane mode etc' announcement was made.

WiFi will not return until EI are satisfied that it will not impact on the aircraft's systems. Better sure than sorry!

It's back!!

Reporting live from 35000ft over the Atlantic- seems like the onboard wifi issues are resolved... well at least they are on the EI123 today!
As previously described, a free access code was distributed to the J cabin shortly after take-off. Its a bit slow and drops off here and there, but a big thumbs up for getting back online

Good to see its back up and working. Down time was quite a while. Hoping no further issues. Looking forward to S/H roll out also.

Reporting live from onboard Aer Lingus A330 new wifi service

There was a news item on RTE's six one news tonight saying it's launched officially.
I presume Skype is blocked? Hope so anyhow.
