Immediate turnaround at ZTH / AXD, is it possible?

Hi all,

Looking to do a sector run and just wondering if an immediate turnaround at ZTH (OA52 followed by OA53) or AXD is possible?

Thanks,

I dont think so. The plan turning back in 35 min. You will be still in the plan, when on the other site the boarding starts in the bus. You will be not out in the bilding before 10-15 min after landing. You run to the security controll, 5-10 min. Gate will be already closed.

In contrast to the above, I think it's doable. Both are relatively small airports and I doubt that security will take that long; especially AXD has very little traffic and there is no bus involved (walk to the plane).

At the small airports just tell the crew you are coming straight back, it's always worked for me.

The crew has nothing to do with the boarding. Nobody asking the crew ....

Maybe 20 years ago, was like that...

Minimum connecting time A3-A3 at ZTH is 30 mins and connection is 20 mins, so on that one you are on your own responsibility to make the connection. At AXD the MCT is also 30 mins but connection 30 mins so that one is a legal connection.

I did 25 min turnaround (that was shortened due to delay) successfully at LXS. Detailed in thread below.

Maybe keep further discussion and experiences in this thread instead? https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/aege...rope-a3-5.html

That's not my experience.

Even if theoretically possible, there can always be a risk in missing the connection. I say connection - but actually it is not. Aegean will likely not sell you such back-to-back flight, even if theoretically you were to be within MCT. As such there would always be a risk. If you are happy to accept that risk and the possible consequences, then go for it - otherwise it may be better looking for a method that allows for a little more time in between flights.

Sometimes in Greece, it feels like 20 years ago.:p
Some things in Greece are just still possible that you wouldn't even be able to do in West-Europe.

Saying this as a half-Greek.

Small airport, no traffic, system doesn’t allow booking

Dosent mater, if the gate is already close, they starting boarding when the plan landing. (by bus) . Cleaning the plane takes 5 min.The more time is, to get out of the plan, and arrive to the building. The other passangers will be already in the bus...and the gate will be closed.

Don't know about Zakynthos but definitely no bus at Alexandroupoli! Passengers board at the rate they're coming out of the building, about 50-100 m away from the plane. They'll then have the last announcement for (at least) the passenger doing the immediate turnaround, if (s)he has not yet boarded. So, AXD is certainly feasible, but I can't really say anything about ZTH.

Ok, i dont know about Alexandroupoli:-) But anyway, gives so little miles, that i dont think is any reason to try thes, for 500 miles .
