AMS-TLL is 914 miles.
AMS-ATH-TLL is 2.838 miles.

TLL-HEL is 62 miles.
TLL-ARN-HEL is 489 miles.

Even if we suppose that nobody here gives a damn about the next generation or the ecosystem, Diner's, Amex, or Priority Pass might be cost-efficient solutions, worth considering.
Well said.

Don't forget that the vast majority on FT don't care about those things. Priority boarding, lounges, taking a bus with 20 people to the gate, flashing a gold card, eating airplane food and so on are the things that feed people's ego.

Thats the whole point of this forum....

I'm not even doing a millage run. I want to go to greece, I want to go to Tallin, I want to go to helsinki.

Both of you seem to fly more then i do. Since when is this becoming an issue on flyertalk? LacMajeur Seems to have taken SAS+ flights to AGP for points...

As someone who has never held a credit card in my life, I find it rather amusing that someone could suggest getting a Diner's or Amex card. One could argue that credit cards, and credit in general, do more to encourage the 'consumer society' that has done far more damage to the environment than air travel ever could. Aviation has become the bogeyman, all negative attention towards this 'unnecessary' evil, without taking into consideration how much it has enhanced the lives of millions, and how much work is actually being done to decrease CO2 emissions.

Looking out of my 17th floor apartment during weekends, I see no end of motorbikes and cars racing down the street (throwing endless fumes into the air unnecessarily), who am I to criticise people for doing what they enjoy - each to their own.

Surely, that's the point of this forum to a certain extent and it is ironic to discuss those issues here.

However, it's not black or white, fly or don't fly at all. It's about balance and selflessness. It's disappointing seeing people looking for mileage runs and worrying about their status.

Don't take it personally. I'm sure you have travel needs as all of us in this forum but you can't deny that the amount of unnecessary travel being promoted here is objectionable.

Miles+Bonus status validity extended

Aegean seem to be extending the status validity for all M+B members for 6 more months. I noticed that today in my account on the digital card. My new expiration date is now June 2022 (my previous expiration date was December 2021). Good move by Aegean!

Brilliant. This must have happened in the last few hours because I checked my account earlier this afternoon.

A very sensible solution from Aegean, well done!

Just one (small) downside to this.....the upgrade voucher validity has also been extended by 6 months. So in my case only 4 vouchers for the next 18 months.

I was due to requalify till August 2020 and I didn't meet yet the requirements but the requalification date is now February 1st, 2021.

Six months more for validity of m+b gold status and upgrade vouchers. Pretty happy

I have also gotten my membership year extended by 6 months (without any notification). Much appreciated!

I would have preferred to keep the November year end because it suited my yearly travel plans better in the past. Given the Hilton status extension I have just written off 2020 and pushed back my next 5 years of travel plans by 12 months.

But can't really complain and at least there is plenty of time to replan things to work with the new May tier-year end.

Mine too. Well done to Aegean. I am amazed that BA has such a poor policy.

Hmm I would have sincerely wished they did not extend in my case. I was due to get a new set of upgrade vouchers in November, and I have already re qualified for them. So no need to extend for me because I already got the status miles.

Now I have to wait 6 more months for my dearly beloved upgrades to come through..
