Status miles on Aegean

I just bought a ticket on UA for travel
UA-EWR-HKG-MAA-ORD-EWR

The HKG-BLR part is on Cathay and earns zero miles on United despite them selling the ticket
Flight From/ To Award Miles PQM PQS PQD
179 New York/Newark, NJ, US (EWR) to Hong Kong (HKG)5345 12090 1.5 1069
631 Hong Kong (HKG) to Chennai, IN (MAA)0 0 0.0 0
632 Chennai, IN (MAA) to Hong Kong (HKG)0 0 0.0 0
896 Hong Kong (HKG) to Chicago, IL, US (ORD)4955 11681 1.5 9911
995 Chicago, IL, US (ORD) to New York/Newark, NJ, US (EWR) 460 1079 1.5 92
MileagePlus accrual totals: RDM 10760 PQM 24850 segments 4.5 PQD 2152

I need advice on 2 things
1
Cathay - is it better to get miles on Alaska or AA or even BA?
2
I know I will get UA silver with this flight
What will I get on Aegean? - It looks like I will get 10k award miles, but what about status miles?
Will I get 24k on A3? or just 10k?
https://en.aegeanair.com/milesandbon...nited_Airlines
I already have the explorer card, so I get free bags on UA.
A3 will get Lounge access to me, right ? or am I looking at nothing useful for this one flight?

It looks like Aegean has changed the Gold qualification from 20k to 48k tier miles
https://en.aegeanair.com/milesandbonus/about-the-program/gold/

Thanks in advance

Please indicate the fare code for each United segment. Then look here to find out accrual rates for each segment. E.g W/S/T/L/K/G earn 50% of the miles flown * length of sector

accrual rates
https://en.aegeanair.com/milesandbon.../all-airlines/

sector lengths for possible A3 accrual
EWR-HKG-ORD-EWR
http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=EWR-HKG-ORD-EWR

sector lengths for possible Oneworld accrual
HKG-MAA-HKG
http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=hkg-maa-hkg

although, you won’t ewrn anything depending on your flight number:
oneworld requires that the flight is marketed on a oneworld carrier- CXxxxxx. So a codeshare UAxxxx will not earn anything on oneworld.
furthermore, star alliance requires that the flight is ON a Star Alliance carrier, meaning the Cathay segments won’t earn anything on star Alliance).
essentially, a mistake to book this if you want miles (as opposed to simply wanting the cheapest ticket)

With Aegean you will earn about 16.5k miles (based on you earning 1.5 PQDs/flight with UA you must be flying in super expensive economy, PE, or Business, if I'm not mistaken).
All of them should earn 100% with Aegean.
That won't get you far when your goal is status, especially when not actually flying A3.

Thanks for the replies - this was for family not me
*A
UA gets 24k PQM - almost silver
A3 gets 150% of distance flown - b class - about 24k - no longer enough for Start Gold - now needs 48k on Star and 24k with 4 segments on A3

OW
I realize now no miles on AA for Cathay - but the thought of going in economy for 2k vs bz class all the way for 2.8k made it easy to decide on this ticket
I still wonder if I can get Cathay Miles on this one?

Thanks again

The A3*G requirements you stated are if you are already A3*S. To get A3 silver, you need 24k miles, or 12k miles with 2 segments on A3.
So to go from scratch to A3*G, you need 72k miles total (less if you fly some A3 segments).
