Crediting miles for not flown leg (rerouted)
 

I was rebooked instead of EWR-YUL-LHR for EWR-LHR (going from 50% to 100%) and from LAX-SYD to LAX-SFO-SYD (100% to 100%) but wonder If I am eligible to get the miles for not flown segments? When I try to claim it online it says "rejected".

Why would you even consider trying to credit the miles for the not flown legs? Apparently, your rerouted itineraries gave you more miles than the originally booked flights.

Why would I even consider? Because other FFP do this, e.g. Flying Blue. Apparently they did but it isn't stopping me from wanting more.

When I was a teenager, years and years ago, I remember my father answering me "I don't care about what other kids do" every time I was using an argument of the kind "but my friend X or Y or Z is allowed to do this" (something that my dad forbid). I could perhaps also quote Muhammed Ali: Different strokes for different folks... ;)

You cannot mix&match the segments that you would like. If it would be, at all, possible to get credit for the flights you did not fly that would mean that all flights on the itinerary would credit according to their original earnings. That means that you would lose the segments where you went from 50% to 100%. This is also the case for programmes like FB.

I'm thinking that having one flight credit as 100% rather than 50% will give you more miles overall than having a few extra legs?

One situation where you can double dip is if you are rerouted on flights operated by airlines of a different alliance. E.g., if you were booked on AC, but you are rebooked (invol reroute) onto KL, then you can get Flying Blue credit for the actually flown flights, and original routing credit (ORC) for the AC flights. In your case it doesn't sound like this is possible, although you don't specify which airlines were involved.
