Is there any specific reason why we'd want to move the discussion away from a proper forum platform?

Well, there are people who love facebook (e.g. the OP) and those who hate it (e.g. me).

I've long deleted anything to do with Facebook, horrible thing to use.

Forums like this are far better for travel info.

I'm not a Facebook user either, I removed my account when sales of personal data seemed to be their norm there and I won't be back.

I'm a long time Flyertalk user and intend to remain one.

+1 for remaining here. I have no doubt the OP intentions are to compliment this forum but like others I prefer a well established fourm such as this. These days there is a Facebook group for everything and anything and they usually have a shelf life which is short.

Perhaps the advantage is like the private WhatsApp groups? To share good fares and tricks that the blogs will quickly kill to milk traffic for credit card referrals.

I'm pretty sure that FT also allows to set up group chats/PM's if you really wanted to. Personally though I think that this subforum is small enough for most things to sail right under the radar of most of the larger blogs anyway
