Aegean and others move to T1 at FCO!

On this coming Sunday, March 31, Aegean as well as European *A operations, plus Vueling and Eurowings, are moving to T1 for their check-in operations at Fiumicino!

Oh, this means it won't be possible to get into the new *A Lounge located in T3... very sad news, I loved that lounge! Which lounge do we have access to as *A G in FCO now?

That does not make much sense regarding the *A lounge - as all *A carriers are now moving to T1? Or is this only about where check-in takes place, but still using the T3 gates?

From the looks of it T1 will be for Schengen and T3 for non-Schengen flights. But which *A non-Schengen flights will there be at T3 if that is the case...only a few long-haul flights per day perhaps?

I feel the same... weird move. Do you think they could keep the departure gates at T3 while checking-in at T1? The two terminals are not so far from each other.

Folks, may I remind you that when ADR (Aeroporti di Roma) talks about using the terminals 1 and 3, this refers to the check-in operations. Otherwise, all Schengen flights are handled through the B-D gates (C gates are bus gates), which are connected airside (i.e. after security) and before immigration. Gates are assigned briefly before departure and *A flights usually board at one of the D or C gates and very seldom a B one, which is "reserved" for AZ and partners in Skyteam.

That makes sense. So where is the *A lounge? Is it located somewhere around the B-D gates?

The map is reflects the lower part of the D pier. Stores and boarding are one floor up (access a little further away from where the toilets are indicated at the lower part of the map), and all lounges, including the *A one, (as well as one restaurant) are a floor further up. Easy to find!
