I had YEG-YOW in basic T. 0%. YEG-YOW in Flex L was credited as Q (100%). Annoying, but at least this is predictable...

I'm trying to decide if I should buy Flex to get 100% and the 500 minimum. I could buy a Comfort fare to guarantee the 100% but I don't really feel like paying the difference out of my own pocket.

My Flex K posted as V and Q both at 100%. But that might be influenced by constant rebooking during last week's pissy weather at YYZ (LT07 showed up on my transcontinental so I was quite happy haha). My last two flights last night / this morning were taken as booked so let's see how they post in a couple of days.

Anyone has experience about the Basic transatlantic fares that book into K? I suppose there is a big probability that those also earn 0%.

No, they give 50%.
Notice that with Air Canada all (revenue) booking classes earn miles with M+B.
The issue discussed here is that tickets that seem to give 100% are remapped to only give 50%.
However, tickets for international flights that already give 50% cannot be remapped into sth giving less than that.
I've had various AC flights booked in K and they all gave 50%. However, for me they've shown up a A fares when credited.
But as I said, doesn't make a difference.

To close the loop, both Flex K on the return segments (intra-Canada) showed up as Q @ 100%.

So I think Flex (at least for domestic Canada) always credits at 100%.

Is it correct that AC domestic Comfort and Flex earn the same A3 status miles?

Yes, I had a comfort flight in booking class L that mapped to M for M&B and gave 100%. My previous experience is that Flex fare also gives 100% miles.
