A3*G showing as expired in AC MLL [workaround]
First up, if this is common knowledge then feel free to ignore. I just hadn't seen it on this board before and after getting hit with this problem on 5/6 MLL visits last week I thought it may be useful for those of us who find themselves flying AC more than a few times.
The backstory is when I tried to get into the MLL last week, my card came up as expired on their system every single time. Even though there is a physical expiry date printed on the card (which is how I got in eventually), it was flagged that way in the system. There was also discussion of status on BP vs card, but they usually swiped the card and then noted it was expired, so clearly there is a protocol.
It was only on visit 5, on the way back in YYZ, where the agents were very aware of this issue and actually explained to me how it happens and how to get around it.
Just make sure that before the agent scans your card they go into the computer and physically select A3 on the screen.
If they do this and swipe the card, then it should come up with the correct information.
Or so I have been told. Ultimately I was never turned away from a lounge, but in the event that you run into a particularly helpful agent it might be good to know.
