Fare Basis query
Hey everyone, I'm sorry if this is a newbie question but I'm trying to work out what fare buckets I will find myself in so I can map them against the Aegean Chart but I'm not sure I fully understand.
I booked with Lastminute.com as they were the only site offering fares at this price but there nothing to inform the purchaser of the booking class until afterwards, when they send you a TripCase itinerary. The Fare Basis codes are the same for all outbound legs and again for all return legs. Is there any way I can work out which fare bucket I will be in for each? You will earn the following for your CA flight:
S class - 50% of actual miles L class - 100% of actual miles For your LH flight L fare you will earn 0 miles on A3 |
The first letter of the "fare basis" is the fare bucket that you are booked in. The A3 website shows you how much miles you will earn:

I was hoping that it wasn't the case of the Fare Class being dictated by my first flight of both outbound and return and thus the zero-earning L class Lufthansa flight mapping into another zero earning class with Air China. Thanks for confirming what I wanted to hear! |
Weird Data Point.
Both the return legs went into Air China L bucket as expected (100%) But the Lufthansa flight mapped from L to V and earned 500 unexpected miles. |
