Question CHeapst way to get A3G from Switzerland

Any ideas on how to get Gold status cheap with flights originating from ZRH, BSL or GVA?

Made Silver with intra-european flights, but these will never get me to Gold.

Input very much appreciated!

Fun routing: 3x ZDH-ZRH-SIN on LX for 3*649 CHF for roughly 20.000 miles (6600 each RT) in March, all possible over the weekends each.

Not the cheapest probably but the most fun one

How about a few roundtrips with OS in Z?

Available to almost al european cities, 8000 miles per roundtrip. Costs about 700 euro per roundtrip. These can be done back-to-back so you won't have to waste time flying intercontinentally

How about flying to Australia and back? Singapore Airlines or Thai.

A3 credits 200% on SAS regular Eco flights, plus SAS allows you to combine different classes on out- and inbound.

For around CHF 1,500 you could go for example:

ZRH-CPH-SFO in SAS GO Saver / discounted Eco (T) -> 100% milage accrual = 6,061
SFO-CPH-ZRH in SAS Plus Saver / Eco Plus (B) -> 200% milage accrual = 12,122

Total miles earned: 18,183 (plus 1,000 miles already received on A3 M&B signup, leaving you just 817 miles short of *G)

You can probably route SFO-CPH-ARN-ZRH on the Eco+ trip for an additional 1200 miles. It will cost you maybe 20 euro extra taxes, but, the fare conditions for class A allow routing through both ARN and CPH.

Well it is not regular Eco that credits 200%.
SAS plus credits 200% which is premium economy.

Agreed, Axel though I was referring more to the fare class (regular/discounted Eco) rather than the cabin product (Eco/Premium Eco)...

Try UA from ZRH or GVA to GIG via IAD/EWR and IAH. Fares start at CHF1031.- RT incl tax (month of April). All in V classes gives you just over 20K miles. UA even lets you do 1 night stop overs at connecting cities with no extra charge.

Going to SYD

Thank you all for the very helpful replies!!!

I will go with Swiss/Singapore Airlines to SYD.
Most likely netting 41k miles according to milescalc.

FYI: miles crediting with Swiss seems to be in sync now, as my last flight credited within 48hrs.

I Fly Sydney-Zurich a couple times a year and I find singapore always seems to have the best connections only around a 1 hour waiting time in Singapore.

Sitting in the lounge myself at Zurich at the moment!

Hello Everyone,

Same issue here. I am trying to get A3*G just for the sake that I really love flying and professionally have about 1 - 2 inter European flights a month.

I have now found the possibility to go to Tokyo in April.
Routing ZRH - CPH - NRT
or PRG - ZRH - NRT

Unfortunately i only get 12000 Miles.
Cost should be around 1000 CHF.

Date: 24 / 25.04 - 28 / 29.04

Anyone a reasonable idea how I could gain more miles with a short D-tour and about the same price?

Thanks in advance.
