Torn suitcase priority tags
I'm and M&B gold member, traveling yesterday from FCO to ATH with A3. I checked in 2 suitcases and they put the red priority tags. When I received them in ATH I found both of the priority tags torn out. I doubt that it was by mistake as it happened to both of my suitcases, whereas it's something that has never happened to me before.
Also, I did not notice if other suitcases had the tags or not; I left in a hurry. Anyone with the same experience, or who can guess what happened? |
Does it matter?
Were your bags not delivered first due to the missing "priority" tags? |
I recently had a similar experience flying from TXL to ZRH with LX earlier this month. I checked my bags in at the LH First counter and I'm pretty sure both of them were given priority tags. However, when they arrived on the belt in ZRH, there were no priority tags and even the regular tags had only barely stayed on. It really looked like someone had purposely ripped them off.
Most other priority bags arrived first, while mine were among the last to arrive. I smell an anti-A3 conspiracy. |
No they didn't arrive in the first batch, but this happens sometimes anyway even with the tags on. This time I missed my bus because of that; not a big deal, the next was 1/2h later, but it is a very strange thing to happen: I cannot think of who might have an incentive for it.

Maybe it's a new environmentally-friendly "recycle and re-use the priority tag" drive :D
|
Yep, that makes sense. Or maybe they are sold at the red-tag black market!
|
Maybe a phantom PT collector at FCO :D I find recently on a few Star carriers these tags are hit and miss in terms of baggage delivery.

I think this conspiracy extends well beyond A3...i've had tags stolen from bags somewhere between checkin and the baggage belt on:

I don't think conspiracy but I really think something is the matter with those tags. I have similar experiences. We were travelling with a group of 7 and I was the only one with priority tags ... 6 bags arrived but mine came 2 days later with torn out tags ... Just strange

I usually find that priority tagged baggage comes off last, maybe they were trying to do you a favour?!
