Earn Aegean miles from hotel stays (Booking.com partnership)

Does anyone know if the Booking.com 2 miles / € count towards Status?

I know it would be unusual but then the 1000 miles for registration do count...

No, they only count towards awards.

True, but Ι am not aware of any frequent flyer programme that gives status miles for hotel stays.

Neither am I but I am not aware of many that give status miles to join either?

So you have tried the hotels?

I asked the question ten days ago and still waiting for an official reply from them. 900 miles short of Gold and a hotel stay which I could have booked through their Hotels.com link would have sorted that out. Guess I'll find another way...

Unfortunately the hotels.com miles do not count towards status. They are basic award miles.

A3 uses Booking.com for award miles.

Used the service for the HKG leg of my last trip and miles were awarded to my account.

I flew SQ and my *G status was clearly marked on my boarding pass, easy lounge access and priority boarding. No issues at all.

Just something that I wanted to point out to A3 members:

Check out http://hotels.aegeanair.com and http://tours.aegeanair.com - you get RDMs for bookings made on those sites and they have cities all around the world, not just the ones that A3 flies to.

Has anyone here been earning miles this way?

Do the miles always post as promised?

Have you found the hotel pricing to be competitive?

Booking.com rates are reasonable, but always compare with other engines, especially if you want a particular property. Sometimes the booking.com rates will be unbeatable, often though they can be a lot higher than the competition and the mile compensation doesn't make up for the difference.

Last time I used this, the miles posted in just over two weeks, with no additional effort.

We booked a weeklong stay in the US recently - the miles posted about a day after we checked out and paid the hotel ^ This was mid-November.

Aegean//Booking.com doesn't always offer the most competitive prices. Sometimes it does. In our instance, they had the same rate as the hotel's own site, so we booked with them to get miles out of it.

2 miles/Euro is pretty good, so I go for it if the rate offered is equal to, less than, OR only a tiny bit more than the best deal I've seen for a hotel.

This was the major reason that I got myself a credit card without Forex fees. Miles posted with no problem within a couple days of checking out...
