PER-SIN-AKL - SQ A359 + SQ B773 - 21k miles - business class (absolutely stunning even I did my best to fly from SIN on ANZ and could not find a single seat in whole schedule).

Looking for USA (JFK would be best) - TYO - LHR/FRA on ANA for 60k miles or vice-versa. Did anybody find recently any dates available? Thanks for sharing if so.

Don't take this too personally, but one thing that annoys me regarding most frequent travellers is this "encryption" of... everything. There must be around 10 million airports around the world and while it seems logical, that MIA indicates Miami and LIS stands for Lisbon, how is anyone (not originating from the following areas) supposed to know what ACC, TMS or LAD stand for? Same goes for the myriads of airline codes, which more often than not have absolutely nothing in common with the actual airline brands.
Would it really hurt to add one little word next to each code that clarifies it, or does everyone reading such forums need a PhD in frequent flying first?
(yes, I know that Google tends to be helpful, but why even go there when I'm here?)

You don't even need to leave Flyertalk.

https://www.flyertalk.com/acl/

There's also an overlay add-in for Chrome which will translate the codes.

The overlay didn't seem to be working, but I just searched for a different extension and found one that is working. Thanks for the suggestion.

PS. Since I am currently actively looking to make a couple of redemptions with partner airlines, what does experience say about asking the phone agents for a as-close-as-possible-to-24h-connection? Are they able to book such an itinerary for the published amount of miles, even if online one can only see award space in connections of (for example) up to 8 hours? (given that all flights actually do have award space in the same booking class)

North American Redemption

I am a North American based member trying to complete my first M&B *A redemption. I am looking to fly on a route from my U.S. City through YYZ to another Canadian city. It would be a OW flight and as I read the award chart, a OW is one half of a RT redemption. However, when I contacted M&B they keep saying the redemption is 25K miles + taxes/fees which is the RT rate. The rules on the site state: "In case of same cabin class and one intermediate point that does not exceed the 24 hours, the required miles for redemption are calculated as one segment, provided that there is seat availability directly from the origin airport to the destination airport, regardless of the seat availability between the origin airport to the intermediate point and from the intermediate point to the destination airport." My read is that a stop at an intermediate airport for less than 24 hours (mine is 2 hours) is allowed. Does anyone have any experience with this and getting this type of itinerary booked along those lines? Thanks for your assistance

You are correct, but it also depends on what you call an intermediate point. For example, Kansas City to Winnipeg via Toronto might not qualify as a one way while a final destination further east would! At any rate, the thing to do is HUACA, you may have gotten through to a new agent who's not yet "used" to the rules.
