TLV-xxx-ZNZ/DAR

Looking for an award flight for next year (I will try to book on year in advance).
TLV-XXX-ZNZ/DAR in C
there are 3 options - TLV-ZRH-DAR on LX, TLV-IST-DAR on TK and TLV-ADD-ZNZ on ET.
ANA shows the ET option, United shows the TK option, obviously i would want LX since they offer wide-bodies on this route.
Any one have tips for me before I call A3?
Thanks

BRU/DUS/AMS/CDG => TPA/ORD/RSW
TPA/ORD/RSW => BRU/DUS/AMS/CDG
Checking on ITA is useful to determine taxes but it tells you nothing about award availability. You have to use one of the online tools such as the one ANA provide (members only - if you have claimed miles into their program). I believe United also have one that may be easier to access. Also you don't say what class you are looking at so I'm assuming business class.

I think you've left it a bit late really. I had spare time so I did searches on ANA from BRU/CDG/AMS/DUS to TPA/RSW and found noting on those dates (+/- 3 days) in business OR economy. Realistically, with Aegean's one-stop rule, you'd be limited to UA or AC, so that's not much availability to choose from in the first place. I think it's just too late.

I DID find BRU-ORD via FRA with LH on the dates you mention, but the taxes and fees you'd have to pay are 635 Euro!! Also there was DUS to ORD, out with LH, back with SK for 407 Euro total taxes and fees. I didn't look any further than that.

Good luck and PM me if you like.

Thanks a lot! I am looking for Y/Economy class award tickets. Agree that this is indeed a bit too late given the holiday rush.

edit: MCO not ORD
You will have more options if you position to a *A hub, because A3 allows one stop transfer for award flight. Instead of DUS, maybe try MUC/FRA. SN does fly to YYZ and JFK, but their availability are very limited imo. ITA matrix only shows revenue flight, for award flight you will need to search with NH, Aeroplan or UA FFP for award availability.

To save fee (yq): fly AC or UA for your TATL segment

You have to call in and ask for the flight. Prepare for high YQ.

I called in trying to book 2 Business Award tickets:

Because it is 2 different booking classes, M&B will charge me 25K + 15K per ticket. That really not right. Now have to look for another option either all in Y or all in J. MS does not have J class as it is a small plane.

Fee & Taxes 165.84 Euros per person

I called in once, and they said you can mix both Y&J, but will be charge in J instead. Some agents are not well trained, just have to call again, or speak to a "supervisor".

She said this is a recent change, and that the system generates the required mileage. She said that if it was J all the way then it'll be 25K pp.

Just read the rules:

-In case of different cabin class and a stopover regardless of the duration, the required miles for redemption are calculated per segment.

That makes M&B even more restrictive now. The bad part is that we didn't even get a notification about the change.

On the "plus side", there's also this though:

-In case of same cabin class and a stopover that exceeds the 24 hours, the required miles for redemption are calculated per segment.
So you should be able to get >24h stopovers on a single ticket, which was not possible before. You still pay the price of two awards, but at least you're protected if you misconnect (although with >24h, that is less likely).

FWIW I'm seeing Scandinavia-TPA in Y on your dates at around 440 EUR in *A (LH, UA). If I were you, I'd save the miles and fly to CPH, GOT and start there, especially if you have status.

Yes but a bit pricey, I didn't know you couldn't do that before?

I was wondering... Newbie here who wants to get status for the first time.

I still need 6000 miles to get Silver status, but I have a flight giving me 10,000 miles. Will I get Silver status and still have to get 24,000 miles for Gold, or will the 4,000 miles be added so I'll only need 20,000 miles to Gold?

Thank you in advance!

I still need 6000 miles to get Silver status, but I have a flight giving me 10,000 miles. Will I get Silver status and still have to get 24,000 miles for Gold, or will the 4,000 miles be added so I'll only need 20,000 miles to Gold?

Thank you in advance!
4000 miles will count towards achieving gold status, so 20k with 4 A3/OA flights
