Unless it means a lot to you to get there earlier, I'd say better safe than sorry and would go with the NH flight later.

But, if you need peace of mind and want to manage the risk down to the lowest extent possible, pay the 20 EUR and change the ticket.

Disagree. If you book NH962 (dep PEK 1530), then there is 0 chance of getting on NH964 (dep PEK 0830) and you are resigning yourself to spending 8 hours in PEK. This is silly unless you actually want to visit Beijing, especially when SIN-TYO direct is less than 8 hours, and the OP doesn't want to visit Beijing since he was considering the 1 hour connection.

If you book NH964 on the same ticket, then there will be a chance of making it. SQ800 is a red-eye and will probably arrive on time or early. ATC is less likely to be a problem overnight and in the morning.

If NH964 is missed, there is the additional option of NH956 to NRT at 1000, and a small possibility of getting one of the more frequent CA flights.

Finally got around to booking and I can confirm that there is no ticketing fee for infants.

But my AC Canada-U.S. infant ticket was charged 13.85EUR. So, since there is no AC YQ levy, I assume the International Transportation Tax is not triggered. So that means the Agriculture Fee, Immigration User Fee, and Customs User Fee are charged on infant tickets? Are they not zero rated on infant tickets?

So anyone knows the "rule" of booking SQ business?
I have had only successfully booked SQA330 so far. I know that A380 and 77W are non-bookable right? How about 772ER or 359?

Thanks

Does this rule apply even when there is no other alternative to fly between the two cities? I'm specifically looking for BKK-CEB and all star alliance connections are above the MPM (BR via TPE, OZ via ICN).

Is the MPM actually published somewhere? Or is it one of those collective assumptions we have here. Yeah, I know there must be SOME maximum but maybe it's a little more flexible than we think. I beleive BKK-TPE-CEB is indeed the shortest possible *A routing and it's within one 'region'. why not just call A3 and check availability?

You would stay in ZAG for less than 24 hours, so it is a connection and not a stopover. This would be fine for a single, one-way M+B redemption IMHO.

Unfortunately wrong: In Aegeanairlinish any connection counts as a stopover.

This is true, but irrelevant. Whether Aegean says: "On each award, we allow one connection of maximum 24 hours," or: "On each award, we allow one stopover of maximum 24 hours," doesn't mean anything for the person doing the booking. The problem isn't that they use the word stopover when they should have used the word connection. The problem is that they only allow one connection on each award.

SQ blocks award bookings on for premium cabins (prem-economy, business, first, suits) on its 77W=777-300ER, A380, A350 planes for all star alliance mileage programs (Including Aegean). It only makes such awards available to its own program. It is what it is.
You might the odd-ball flight that gets swapped to a 77W, A380, A350 after you book (a common trick to use, so watch airlineroute.com closely), or short haul 77W to CGK/BKK/HKG.

A330, 772/773 (non ER 777-300) are not blocked and are available depending on the route, the longest being Istanbul.
